Announcing my latest release!

Hi folks,

I’m very pleased to announce the release of my latest novel! Even though I have finished the Tales from the New Earth series, I wanted to continue to explore the world that I’d created from the perspective, not of Simon O’Toole, my protagonist from that series, but from the point of view of some of the people that he met along the way. And this book is the result.

There were many interesting characters that I was intrigued by in the series and I thought that it would be exciting to get to know some of them a little better, learn their backstories and see what has happened to them since Simon left the New Earth for his refuge in the Void.

One of my favorite characters from the books was Liliana Travnikov, the paladin from Moscow. For those of you unfamiliar with her, Liliana became a great friend and supporter of Simon’s and the other surviving humans and fought alongside him against the primal dragons. I thought that her backstory and journey, from starting out as a middle-aged mother and grandmother to becoming a warrior blessed by the gods would be exciting to delve into and so, The First Paladin is the result.

It’s been a lot of fun to write and Liliana turned out to be even more interesting to get to know than I had expected. Hopefully for those of you who check out her story, you will think so too. Just click on the book cover on the right see the novel on Amazon.

Each of the upcoming books in The New Earth Chronicles will build upon the others, but will also be self-contained and readable in any order.

I really hope that you enjoy these new adventures as much as I do!

Take care,

  1. What a great read this was!

This was an excellent book, I think it’s one of the best you’ve written so far.

Liliana’s story was so interesting. Her backstory captivated me from page one. I inhaled the book in just a few sittings because I rearranged my schedule so I could read.

I read a lot, there’s few books that elicit that response from me.

It is a great stand alone book, but I think I enjoyed it more for having read the “Tales From the New Earth” series. I have a lot of time with these characters; I have missed them.

Well done, I look forward to the rest of the books.

  2. Thanks so much for your comment. I really became fond of Liliana when I introduced her in the New Earth series and wanted to tell her story first. I greatly admire strong women and was excited to discover her backstory for myself. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.

  3. I have read all your books and have enjoyed each and everyone one of them. Thanks alot, just keep them coming…………………

  4. I love the. “Tales from the New Earth”. I especially loved it from Simon O’Toole perspective. It is a great idea to learn about Liliana. I am currently reading “The First Paladin” and so far it is good. I am wonder if or when are you going to bring back Simon or write about Malcome or any of the characters.

    • Hi Carlos,

I’m happy to know that you’re enjoying the new series. The next book should be out by the end of July (ish), and in it we’ll explore what’s happened to the Changlings, the young kids that Simon met in Ottawa in Book 1 of the Tales from the New Earth series. I’ve always wanted to go back and see the world from their perspective and I’m thrilled that I’m now doing that. I hope that you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I’m enjoying writing it.
And Simon never really disappears, does he? He’s the glue that will bind all of these books together, and I’ll just leave it at that. I don’t want to give too much away!

Take care and have great summer,

    • Hi John,

Thanks so much for your post. It’s always nice to get positive feedback from my readers. And don’t worry: Simon will always be the glue that binds the New Earth adventures together, even if only collaterally. Have a great summer!

    • Hi John,

Absolutely. The next book is half written, but because the series wasn’t as popular as my New Earth books, it’s taken a bit of a back seat, I’m afraid. But I do intend to write two final books to round out the series at five, so there you go. 🙂
      Take care,
