We’re Getting Close Now

Welcome, fellow readers. J. J. here. I hope that Autumn, (or Spring if you live in the southern hemisphere), is going well. I just wanted to drop by and give you an update on how my current work in progress is going.

Good news! This may be the last update before I release the new novel. Editing is winding down and I’m on the hunt for a cover now. The official title of the book is ‘A Cursed Moon Rises’. It’s book #2 of the ‘A War of Light and Shadow’ series and I’m quite proud of it.

I’ve managed to surprise myself with this one. It’s my longest novel so far, clocking in at over a hundred and seventy-five thousand words. To give you some perspective, the first novel, ‘The Wizard Returns’, was about a hundred and fifty-two thousand words, so that’s something. Also, I started writing that book in the middle of Covid and it took me four years to finish. The new novel has taken me less than a year to write, not counting edits of course. That tells me that I’m enjoying the creative process and that the words are just flowing now. For a writer, that sensation is golden.

So keep an eye on this space. I’ll announce the release here, but it may be another month or so before that happens. Sadly, delays are inevitable in this business, especially when it comes to releasing novels in a timely fashion.

I hope that you are all keeping well and I’ll speak to you again as soon as I can.

Take care,

J. J.
